A Year of Progress
A year has passed and Tefr has now entered a new phase. I’m sure those that have been following things are aware that a major edit of the system book, ‘Tefr Prelude’ has been undertaken under Cameron’s loving fists. At the same time both Simon and Cameron have been through and created various incarnations of the many, many illustrations. An updated version of the small Enchanter’s Primer book is even available as POD prints (by arrangement). The large Enchanter’s Codex rules are still awaiting more thorough testing in the next phase. I’ll give all these their own spot on the website at a later date once everything has had a shake-down in the ongoing testing.
What is of greater significance on the development of the project is that we also now have a couple of new one-off scenarios from Tefr developers ready for play testing. Simon has also been continuing with editing (and in some parts completely re-writing) the long promised ‘Comor-Rath’ campaign after multiple play tests. These are all of huge significance to the Tefr project as fundamentally the game hangs on these narrative scenarios. Narratives that allow the players to discover the world of Tefr, interact with the characters within it, and at the same time experience and influence an unfolding story. This has always been the main focus of Tefr. It is really exciting to see all these elements coming together.
To this end we will be undertaking a new round of play testing in the coming year. In the coming weeks we will be seeking additional Game Masters and willing players of all levels of experience, who are interested to participate. This is no longer just about using the rules, it is about testing the narrative structures that the rules were created to facilitate.
